I recently finished the first roll of film through my new Lubitel Universal 166.
When I first got it, I checked the focus with a ground glass through the film lens, and it checked good at infinity, and at 1.3 meters.
Yay.
Unfortunately what I did not do, was check the focus registration of the VIEWING lens at those same distances.
If I had, I would have seen that the view focus did not register with the film focus.
Sigh.
It’s fixed now. But I had no idea that the focus was wonky until I tried to focus on a barn at “close” to infinity. I could not get a good focus through the view lens, until I was down to about 5 meters. The barn was closer to 20-30 meters.
This first shot, was a guesstimate on exposure, and set to hyperfocal and handheld.
This shot was focused by view lens, bad focus, I may try this shot again sometime.
This was scale focus, Just set to infinity, and shot.
This was set to infinity also.
This was focused in viewfinder, and monopod.
I processed with really old caffenol-CL, 12 minutes, 70f
Scanned with Epson 4870
The mask looks like it did some scratching, bummer, I was hoping the mask would be a nice 645 option.
