ToothAche?

I have noticed that there are basically two kinds of toothache.

First, the angry cavity!
Yep, you got a hole in your tooth, and exposed a nerve. Now whenever you eat something, specially sweet stuff, that nerve gets jangled and it gets really pissed off.

The other kind is the infection, this is the dangerous kind!
If you let an infection continue, it can get into your blood, then ya die. Sucks.

Before the cause of infection was known to be germs, and antibiotics were developed, folks who had teeth pulled because of infection, died, because pulling the tooth with an active infection allowed the infection direct access to the bloodstream.

Normally an infection exhibits a swelling, and a deep gnawing pain, punctuated with tenderness that causes sharp pain. At times a localized swelling occurs causing a painful boil like nodule.
I pop those boils myself, if you go to a dentist or doctor, they will prescribe an antibiotic, they may give you painkillers, they may lance the boil, which is called an abscess.
The point is to be sure that the infection gets stopped.

OK, so both kinds of toothache hurt, one is sharp pain, but not really all that dangerous, unless it turns to infection. The other is dangerous.

Bacteria causes infection, we know this!

Listerine kills bacteria. Wow, cool eh? If you get an infection, you want to use Listerine to kill that bacteria!

The bacteria in your mouth feed on food that is left in your mouth after eating or drinking. That bacteria feeds, then what it does not use, it leaves in your mouth, as bacteria crap, yep, them suckers crap in your mouth!

Not only is that disgusting to think about, that crap is what we call plaque. Dunno why the medical folks decided to give it a pretty name, it’s germ shit, maybe if they named it germ shit, people would be more inclined to keep it cleaned out.

Anyways, that shit is what eats away at your teeth, causing cavities.

So, Listerine, kills the bacteria, but leaves the crap, including a bunch of dead bacteria also in your mouth. What ya need to get rid of plaque, is Plax!
Plax is a rinse that dissolves that germ shit, so you can get it outta your mouth.

Now, back to toothaches, if you have the first kind, sharp pain, exposed nerve, then you need to get the gunk away from that nerve. Let’s be honest, if you have a cavity large enough to expose your nerve, you probably brush your teeth once a month, if that often, and your mouth is full of germ crap along with the bacteria, thriving on your last meal.

Step one is to get rid of the shit that is acting like glue, which should let you get rid of the actual particle of whatever is screwing round with the nerve that is really pissed off about now.

So use Plax, but wait!!

The directions on Plax says to swish for 30 seconds, then brush.
HuH???
Dunno what they were thinking, if you were washing dishes, do you swish the plate around in detergent then wipe it with the rag? Hell no, ya scrub that sucker IN the detergent!

Tell ya what, get some of that plax in your mouth, then brush your teeth being specially careful round the sore area, yeah, it’s gonna hurt, but THAT is the area ya gotta get super clean! Use the toothbrush to get that plax into every nook and cranny that you can! You should be able to feel the difference in your mouth as the crap comes off your teeth. Repeat if needed, use the plax and your brush to really deeep clean your teeth.

Cool, I’d be willing to bet that the pain is already beginning to subside, it’s a healing pain, not getting worse every moment kinda pain.

Rinse well with water, repeat if needed, swish well, to get as much of that crap outta your mouth, off your teeth. Sometimes I’ll use the brush with plax to clean my tongue as well, I’ve had chix comment on how pretty my tongue is after I clean it with plax.

Now you should remember that that crap comes from bacteria, right? And for right now, because of that cavity and exposed nerve, you really want to keep food and crap from getting back in there.
The point is that Plax does not kill the bacteria, it just cleans up the germ shit they left in your mouth. Listerine DOES kill bacteria, and if the bacteria is gone, then they can’t shit in your mouth!, so use listerine, follow the instructions on the bottle.

Now you can use toothpaste if you want, and brush your teeth as you normally would. Most toothpaste has whiteners and fluoride. Fluoride helps harden your teeth against cavities, but think about it, if the bacteria are kept dead using listerine, and their shit is kept cleaned out with plax, then you wouldn’t have any cavities, so ya don’t need the fluoride.

The infection kind of toothache is caused by bacteria, so use Listerine, get antibiotics, and get that abscess popped.

Prevent recurrence by using plax, to brush with, to get rid of the germ crap, and then use listerine to keep killing the germs.

Using both kind of products on a regular basis would keep you from having the toothaches in the first place.

Toothpaste does NOT have the cleaning qualities that plax does.
Do NOT merely rinse with plax, USE THE BRUSH!!
